Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The lightworker’s path is the path of healing and spreading light – including knowledge, freedom, love, and higher consciousness and connection – 0n Earth. We have had spiritual, mystical, or “beyond the mundane” experiences that give us knowledge that there is more to the Earth walk than what many perceive, and that bring us to a higher level of consciousness.
A lightworker’s sacred purpose is to serve as a healer; of the planet and of all sentient creatures, including each other. Lightworkers are a force of light and hope in what sometimes seems like a dark world. Lightworkers understand the power of energy, as well as the power of thought, and we know that everything is connected. We know that light can be a force for positive change in the world.
Lightworkers have a sense that we are part of something much greater than ourselves. We feel spiritually awakened and connected – to Mother Earth, to all sentient creatures, and to each other.
We know that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, not the other way around. We have developed the ability to discern between ego and the true self.
I’m particularly drawn to Rebecca Campbell’s definition of a lightworker:
someone who wholeheartedly makes the decision to make the world a brighter place by them being in it.
